Raw materials are divided into general white material, high white material, super white material, and crystal white material. The quality is getting better and better, which directly affects the transparency and brittleness of glass products. The transparency of high white material is better than that of ordinary white material. The light transmittance of ordinary white glass is about 82%, high white glass is about 92%, and there is a difference in flatness.
Crystal white glass, also known as crystal glass, is generally used more in glass crafts, because the raw material of crystal glass must be added with lead, in order to have the effect of crystal, but lead in crystal glass is in the form of lead oxide, such as drinking water from a crystal glass, after a long time, lead oxide will slowly dissolve out, causing harm to the human body.
So white glass is not suitable for making food containers. It is expensive and difficult to manufacture by machine. But you don't have to worry about the factory mistaking the two kinds of glass, because the factories that make them use different equipment and processes, and often even two different factories.
How to distinguish high white glass from plain white glass

Because the ultra-white glass raw materials generally contain less impurities, the fine control in the process of raw material melting, so that the ultra-white glass relative to ordinary glass has a more uniform composition, its internal impurities are less, which greatly reduces the possibility of self-explosion after tempering.
Color consistency of glass
Because the iron content in the raw material is only 1/10 or less of ordinary glass, ultra-white glass absorbs less of the green band of visible light than ordinary glass, ensuring the consistency of the glass color.
The visible light transmittance of more than 91.5% has the crystal quality, which makes the display clearer and highlights the real appearance of the exhibits.
Low UV transmittance
Compared with ordinary glass, ultra-white glass has lower absorption of ultraviolet band. It can effectively reduce the passage of ultraviolet rays when used in places that prevent ultraviolet rays, such as museums and other areas, and slow down the fading and aging of various exhibits in the exhibition cases, especially the protection effect of cultural relics is more obvious.
In the process of glass manufacturing, if the content of iron is too high, the internal color component will become more, so that when the light passes through the glass, it is easy to be absorbed, resulting in a decrease in light transmittance, which is what we call low transparency.
It can be seen that in the ordinary glass without obvious defects (nodules, bubbles, streaks, impurities, light distortion, etc.), the iron content has a greater effect on the transmittance. So high white glass is to try to reduce the content of iron in the glass composition (usually controlled in the range of 0.011 or less), in the case of no obvious defects will increase the transmittance to more than 92%, from the surface looks like a kind of crystal clear feeling.
The glass formula of each glass factory is generally kept secret. Because there is no standard for glass formula (except hazardous substances, heavy metals standards). Other requirements depend on whether the product meets customer requirements.
The high white material in glass refers to the good whiteness and high transparency of this kind of glass. Like ordinary glass, we can't see the color at ordinary times, but multiple layers of glass add together to make green. High white glass raw materials to choose less impurities, high purity concentrate, if necessary, also need to use acid cleaning raw materials, remove impurities such as iron in raw materials.
